Pie Meeting Saturday 6th April 2013

World Events

North Korea give clearance to fire a nuclear missile on America.

Derby father Mike Philpott who killed his 6 children gets life. 

Greetland Methodist church has oldest Methodist grave in England and it is to be moved.

Sport

Grand National 66 – 1 winner Aurora’s Encore. 

Oxford win the boat race.

David Milliband resigns from Sunderland Football Club because of the fascist manager.

Pies

Chris   Fairly well filled. Thick pastry. Crispy crust. Finely ground meat. Quite mushy. Not much jelly. Spicey at the end but not enough.

Score   7.0/10

Tim   Pasty looking pie. Bit in an quite liked it. No jelly, bags of spice. Not enough meat.

Score   6.0/10

Richard   Undercooked pastry, enjoyed it but looked like a tart. Meat looked pre-chewed. No jelly but a little spice.

William   Pale, pastry a bit thick, meat was spam but the taste was quite good. Missing jelly.

Score   6.5

Mark   Pale, thick pastry. Pastry was a nice susprise. Meat was sausage meat but lots of flavour and afterburn, no jelly.

Score   6.5/10

Peter   Did not look too good with such pale pastry. Pastry was thick but tasty. No jelly. Meat was finely ground but spicy in parts.

Score   7.0/10

Oli   Looked annemic, cutting into the pie no jelly, tasty pastry, spicey, a pie from the wrong side of the hill (Lancashire)

Score   6.5/10

Dominic   Good looking pie, lovely crust, thick pastry, well seasoned meat, no jelly.

Pie Competition was a fantastic success with numbers of the Public attending. 

Max Clifford on 11 charges of indecent assault from between 47 and 25 years ago.

Syria  accussed of killing people with chemical weapons.

Fatal crash on M62 with hen party bus crash.

Sport

Man Utd win Premiership.

Bacelona and Real Madrid get stuffed in Champions league.

Suarez bites arm  of Ivanovic ! 

Chris Gale scores fastest hundred runs in first class cricket.

Pies

        Nice tasty pastry, liked the contrast between the apple and pork. Not keen on the stuffing.

Kevin   Fresh, packed with meat. Blend  of apple and pork went together well.

Score   9.0/10

Howard   Good sized pie, crusty tasty pastry. Succulent tasty pork. Stuffing not tasted.

Ben (guest)   Very nice, delightful pastry, too much stuffing, not really a pork pie.

Score   7.0/10

Tom  (guest)   Pork goes with apple but nothing different.

James (guest)   Good sized pie, pastry crusty, meat was tasty and enjoyed the apple and stuffing.

Peter Looked interesting. Personally I would prefer apple as a desert. Lots of sage flavour.
