Labour Peer Lord Sewel resigns after being caught snorting cocaine in a red bra and leather jacket with prostitutes. He was Head of the House of Lords Standards committee.

Channel Tunnel under siege from illegal immigrants in Calais.

Sport

Leeds win semi-final of Rugby League Challenge Cup. 

England win 3rd test against Australia 2-1 up. 

Chris Froom wins the 2015 Tour de France

Pies

Tim   Messy looking pie.Flaky bakers pastry. Full of meat on one side and empty on the other. Smoky flavour.

Score   7.0/10

Peter   Large rough looking pie. Well filled, fresh tasty pastry. Succulent meat with a small amount of jelly. Quite tasty.

Score   8.0/10

Howard   Rustic looking pie. Cathedral dome and sadly lacking in content. Nice meat, tasty pastry, little jelly and no spice.

Score   5.0/10

Mark   Very fresh, crisp tasty pastry. Artisan style pie. Nice moist meat, not much jelly but did not need it. Flavoursome meat with a good consistency.

Peter   Big fresh pie, crisp fresh pastry, well filled with tasty meat. Just right amount of jelly.

Howard   Crispy pastry, coarse grisly meat, lacked spice.

Mark   Soft soggy undercooked pastry, salty meat,needed pepper and cooking, poor.

Luke   Crispy pastry, right amount of jelly, too salty, grisly meat.

Nick   Pastry was ok, meat not good.

Boarding passes asked for at Airports not compulsory and shops ask so they claim the VAT back and keep it.

Sport

Chelsea manager Mourinho told the team Doctor to stay off the bench after she rushed onto the pitch for an injured player.

Halifax lose 3 – 2 today. No wins this season.

Top atheletics stars releasing their blood test results to prove their innocence from doping.

Pies

Mark   Soft dry pastry. Huge dome on top. Dry lump of meat in the bottom. Lacked pepper, no jelly.

Score   4.0/10

Howard   Large pie, no glaze on it. Pastry too soggy and too much of it. Meat was porky but no spice and no jelly. Not very good.

Score   4.0/10

Peter   Big very dry pie, pastry was like a cream cracker and no jelly. Bland meat.

Score   5.0/10

Kevin   A big pie but nothing in it. No jelly and dry meat. Like eating a Wheatabix. Looked promising but disappointing.

This week we had 2 sets of pies 

Peter   Quite fresh and crisp pastry. Salty, succulent meat. Better than the first pie.

Score   8.0/10

Kevin   Medium sized pie, thin soft pastry with flavour. Fresh porky compact meat, no seasoning  but did not need it.

Score   8.0/10

Tim   Not fresh but nice pastry. Finely ground meat. Peppery and a little jelly. Enjoyed it.

Score   7.0/10

Mark   Thin crispy pastry. Well packed with tasty well- seasoned meat, good afterburn, lots of jelly.

Score   8.5/10

Howard   Medium size well castellated . Nice glaze and well packed with meat. Finely ground meat, salty and no pepper. Pastry was crisp and tasty on top but soggy on the bottom.

Sport

Mo Farah wins Gold at World Games in Beijing.

England on verge of losing 5th test against Australia. 

Pies

Kevin   Burnt. Crisp nutty pastry. Burnt crispy bits did not bother me. Not much jelly but moist, porky condensed meat. Fresh. Liked it.

Score   9.0/10

Tim   Small pie. Got one not too cremated. Bakers pie. Sweet tasting pastry. Densely packed meat. Left a lardy palette. Enjoyed it.

Score   7.0/10

Howard   Burnt small pie. Top section crispy pastry. Bottom section soggy. Not much jelly around the pie. Finely ground meat. Sweet, not much spice.

Score   7.5/10

Mark   Small ball of densely packed Spam surrounded by a runny soup enclosed by a white doughty pastry burnt on the outside. Frozen pie that has been put in the oven and burnt.

Score   4.5/10

Peter   Rustic looking. Liked the sunburnt in parts finish including the blisters! Had very crisp, thin and tasty pastry. Succulent tasty meat with just enough jelly. Would have enjoyed a little more pepper, delicately seasoned. A very good pie.
